What is ETA
An ETA is short for Electronic Travel Authorization. It is an authorization usually associated with a Travelers Passport which allows a international traveler to travel to India with out a typical Visa. The ETA is usually for short-term stays of a maximum of sixty days and is utilized for either tourism,
medical treatment, attending conferences, business negotiations and the likes. The ETA is not a work permit and therefore will not give its holders the to work or apply for work in India. An Indian ETA can be carried out online and will not usually require the Physical Existence of the applicant before it is verified.

Any international travelers can visit with an objective of sightseeing, recreation, to meet relatives, friends or due to medical emergency treatments and business purposes.
The passport will need to have a validity of six months, starting from the day of arrival in India. There should be two completely empty pages in the passport for stamping.
International travelers will need to have their return ticket and sufficient money for the stay in the country.
The international travelers with Pakistani origin or Pakistani passport have to apply at the Indian Mission.
Everyone must have their individual passport.

Applying for visa in 3 steps
Trying to get an Indian ETA Visa is very straightforward and easy. It needs just 3 simple actions:
1. The Applicant will be asked to submit an application form with their bio-data and other information on the Application Website. A passport photograph with a white background will be uploaded to the portal along with a duplicate of the Applicants International Passport showing the Applicants Photo and Details. However, requirements may vary with respect to the purpose of visit i.e. an e-Medical Visa will require a duplicate of the letter from the Hospital concerned in India on its letterhead, for an e-Business Visa, a duplicate of your business card will be needed.
2. After filling out the application the next step will be for the Applicant to pay for the ETA Visa online, it will always be advisable for payment to be produced 4 days before the expected day of travel and a maximum of 120 days before expected departure date. Payments through BANK CARDS are accepted, Accepted Cards include; Visa, MasterCard and American Express.
3. After payments are created, the Applicant will be required to wait for some time as the ETA Visa Application is being Processed and Verified for bad spellings and invalid Details. When the application form has been approved, the applicant will be delivered a contact confirming the Position of his Application. The Approval is to be printed out and shown to officials at the point of departure.
