What’s ETA
An ETA is brief for Electronic Travel Authorization. It is an authorization usually linked to a Travelers Passport that allows a international traveler to travel to India without a regular Visa. The ETA is usually for short term stays of a maximum of sixty days and is utilized for either tourism,
medical treatment, attending conferences, business negotiations and the likes. The ETA is not really a work permit and therefore does not give its holders the right to work or apply for work in India. An Indian ETA can be done online and will not usually require the Physical Existence of the applicant before it is confirmed.

The Indian Government has made the procedure of trying to get the tourist’s visa online simple, but it gets the following requirements that the tourists need to satisfy;
The Indian ETA Visa is valid for only sixty days, the tourists willing to increase their stay must apply for a proper visa.
The tourists can opt for different e-Visas depending on the reason for their travel (for example e-Tourist Visa, e-Medical Visa, e-Business Visa).
The tourists applying for the visa will need to have at least six months passport validity (from the estimated date of arrival) along with 2 empty pages.
The travelers can enter India twice using the e-Visa.
Tourists must carry other documents that prove their identity.
The tourists from certain countries like Pakistan cannot apply for the ETA.
Travelers can enter India from the various airports (25) and three seaports.

Applying for visa in 3 steps
Trying to get an Indian ETA Visa is very straightforward and easy. It requires just 3 simple actions:
1. The Applicant will be required to fill out an Application form with their bio-data and other information on the Application Portal. A passport picture with a white background will be uploaded to the portal along with a copy of the Candidates International Passport showing the Applicants Picture and Details. However, requirements may be different with respect to the reason for visit i.e. an e-Medical Visa will demand a duplicate of a letter from a healthcare facility concerned in India on its letterhead, for an e-Business Visa, a copy of your business card will be needed.
2. After filling out the application form the next step will be for the Applicant to pay for the ETA Visa online, it is usually recommended for payment to be made 4 days before the expected day of travel and a maximum of 120 days before expected departure date. Payments through BANK CARDS are accepted, Accepted Credit cards include; Visa, MasterCard and American Express.
3. After payments are created, the Applicant will be required to wait for some time as the ETA Visa Application is being Processed and Verified for bad spellings and invalid Details. When the application has been approved, the applicant will be delivered an Email confirming the Status of his Application. The Approval is usually to be printed out and proven to officials at the point of departure.
